First celebrated in 1999, Pet Sitters International's Take Your Dog To Work Day® (TYDTWDay®) was created to celebrate the great companions dogs make and to encourage their adoption from humane societies, animal shelters and breed rescue clubs. This annual event asks pet lovers to celebrate the humane-canine bond and promote pet adoption by encouraging their employers to support TYDTWDay. Employers are encouraged to open their workplace to employees' four-legged friends on this one special day.
The 2012 event will take place on Friday, June 22. On this day, thousands of pet owners will work with their dogs to celebrate the 14th annual TYDTWDay.
In addition, the entire week, June 18-22, has been designated Take Your Pet To Work Week™. So, if your company is closed on Fridays or if you want to invite all types of pets, select any day during the week to host a special event at your workplace.
Pet Sitters International (PSI) invites your business to participate in this fun and worthwhile event. But, please celebrate the right way: focus on the fun employees and employers have, celebrate the value of pets in the workplace, and encourage pet adoptions. Please get our permission before using TYDTWDay events to advertise or promote specific products or services offered by your company. Learn more about licensing and sponsorship opportunities.
We are asking every business--great and small--to become a true friend of the canine community by helping PSI promote pet adoptions in a positive and proactive way!
